Humeral chondrosarcoma associated with lung metastases in a young dog - case report

ABSTRACT Chondrosarcoma, an unusual malignant neoplasm, develops in cartilaginous tissue and presents low rate of metastasis, mainly affecting the axial skeleton from adult to senile dogs. In face occurrence chondrosarcoma long bones young dogs, present report aimed describe it right humerus a two-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky, attended at Veterinary Hospital University Franca, with limping thoracic limb, for 20 days. The radiographic examination showed bone lysis periosteal proliferation. incisional biopsy, proliferation atypical chondrocytes diffuse distribution, interspersed compact matrix, was observed. amputation limb performed, fragment histopathological analysis grade I chondrosarcoma. Periodic returns were made neoplastic staging, 240 days after surgery lung metastases detected, however, tutor did not authorize chemotherapy radiotherapy financial reasons due absence respiratory symptoms so far (410 surgery). Although uncommon, can affect clinical signs similar other neoplasms, and, even radical amputation, demonstrate systemic metastasis.
